Statutory deadline is around 9 July 2029. Most analysts expect Labour to call the election in 2028 or 2029 depending on economic performance.

The Fixed-term Parliaments Act was repealed. Under the Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022, the statutory maximum is 5 years from first sitting (9 July 2024 = 9 July 2029 automatic dissolution, election required within 25 working days, so by roughly mid-August 2029).

Note: The Conservatives under Rishi Sunak called the 2024 General Election early (July 2024), 7 months before the January 2025 deadline. Labour won a large majority. The next statutory deadline is January 2030.
